Edward Blair &
Sarah Harrison
Robert Blair & Rose Colquohoun
Participant 7986 descends from Edward Blair
and Sarah Harrison
Participants 15114 and 25464 descends from Robert Blair
and Rose Colquohoun
The DNA test results from the three participants
certainly support the belief that they share a common ancestor. If Edward and
Robert are not brothers it is almost certain they are cousins. The two
participants (15114 and 25464) who descend from Robert match 25 for 25 with each
other and match 24 for 25 with participant 7986 who descends from Edward.

* The FTDNATiP™ results are based on the
mutation rate study presented during
the 1st International Conference on Genetic Genealogy, on Oct. 30, 2004.
The above probabilities take into consideration the mutation rates for
each individual
marker being compared. |

Remarks: |
|
|
Given the traditional genealogical paper
trail, the fact that both Edward and Robert were born in Ireland within 20 years
of each other, that both settled in Ontario Canada, coupled with the closeness
of the DNA test results and a very rare combination of values on markers #390,
#385a, and #385b (they are the only ones to have 26-14-15 in over 4000 results I
have analyzed), there is very strong support to believe that Edward and Robert
are in fact brothers.
The diagram below show the pedigrees of the two
participants based on conventional research
