Donald Blair & Janet McAdam This line is referred to as the Donald Blair and Janet McAdam line, but it should more correctly be referred to as the John Blair and Margaret McLuckie line. Although there reasonable circumstantial evidence to conclude that John is the son of Donald and Janet, there is no real proof. I am the only participant, 3957, to document my ancestry back to John Blair & Margaret McLuckie. A second participant (William Blair Philbrick - 4311) has traced his Blair line back to Alexander A. Blair & Sarah A. Smalley. I have long suspected that this Alexander Blair was connected to John Blair & Margaret McLuckie through Robert Blair, brother of my gr-gr-gr grandfather, Peter Blair. Although there is no documented proof, there is compelling circumstantial evidence to believe that William's Alexander is the son Andrew Blair and Elizabeth Ronnalds. Andrew was the son of Robert. DNA test results (William and I match 25 for 25) provide strong support that William and I share a common ancestor, with a 50% probability that the common ancestor was within 7 generations. John Blair & Margaret McLuckie would be 7 generations removed. Based on the conventional evidence we have and the DNA test results I can only conclude (but can't prove) that the pedigree chart below represents William's family line back through John Blair & Margaret McLuckie. Until we can find conventional proof that Alexander is the son of Andrew this will have to remain speculation. The actual marker values for each participant are shown in the table below.
The diagram below show the pedigrees of the two participants based on conventional research.
